Warranty

Coverage

West Michigan Auto Glass (“we”, “us”, “our”) guarantees that from the date of the installation or repair, the service performed by us will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the terms and limitations below.

Workmanship: Installation workmanship is covered for as long as the original customer owns or leases the vehicle on which the glass was installed by West Michigan Auto Glass.

Glass & Materials: Glass supplied and installed by West Michigan Auto Glass is covered for thirty (30) days from the installation date against manufacturer defects, including delamination, optical distortion, and visible manufacturing blemishes. This coverage is subject to the warranty limitations provided by our suppliers and manufacturers.

Repairs: We warrant that a repaired chip will not spread or crack under normal operating conditions. If the repaired area spreads or cracks within ninety (90) days of the repair date, we will apply the original repair cost toward the purchase of a replacement windshield installed by West Michigan Auto Glass, subject to insurance approval and coverage requirements, if applicable.

ADAS Recalibration (if applicable): If West Michigan Auto Glass performs Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) recalibration in connection with a glass replacement, the recalibration service is warranted for ninety (90) days from the date of service or until the next recalibration event, windshield replacement, vehicle alignment, suspension repair, collision event, or other manufacturer-required recalibration event, whichever occurs first.

Leak, Wind Noise & Water Intrusion: If you experience wind noise, air leaks, or water intrusion resulting directly from our installation, West Michigan Auto Glass will inspect and correct the condition at no charge. This coverage extends for six (6) months from the installation date. Customers must notify West Michigan Auto Glass within seven (7) days of first discovering the issue to remain eligible for coverage under this provision.

Mobile & In-Shop Installations: This warranty applies equally to mobile installations performed by West Michigan Auto Glass and services performed at our shop location.

R&I (Remove & Install): If we perform a removal and reinstallation (R&I) of existing glass or customer-supplied parts, you acknowledge that there is always a risk of the glass breaking during this process. If the glass breaks during removal or reinstallation, the customer is responsible for all costs associated with a full replacement. Because we did not supply the glass or parts, no warranty applies to their breakage, fitment, or performance. We guarantee only the quality of our workmanship for the reinstallation itself.

Eligibility & Transferability

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the service (the individual or entity that contracted West Michigan Auto Glass for the installation) and only to the specific vehicle on which the service was performed.

Non-Transferable: This warranty is non-transferable and does not extend to any subsequent owner, lessee, or operator of the vehicle.

To obtain warranty service, the customer must provide the vehicle identification number (VIN), original invoice, work order number, or other reasonable proof of service upon request.

Notification & Claim Procedure

You must notify us within 7 days of discovering a potential warranty claim. Delay may void coverage.

Post-Installation Care & Drive-Away Instructions

Drive cautiously and avoid rough roads, potholes, and unnecessary vehicle stress for the first 24–48 hours following installation.

Avoid high-pressure car washes and power washing the vehicle for at least 72 hours after installation.

Leave any retention tape in place until the evening of the installation date, then carefully remove it unless otherwise instructed by your technician.

Allow the recommended adhesive cure time before driving; we will advise you of the required delay (commonly at least 1 hour). Driving too soon may prevent proper glass adhesion.

If mobile service was performed, park the vehicle on a level surface until the adhesive has fully cured.

If you experience excessive wind noise, water intrusion, glass movement, visual misalignment, or any other installation-related concern, contact West Michigan Auto Glass immediately. Warranty-related concerns should be reported as soon as possible and no later than thirty (30) days after installation.

What’s Not Covered (Exclusions)

This warranty does not cover:

Damage caused by impact, accidents, theft, vandalism, or acts of nature, including but not limited to hail, wind-blown debris, falling objects, flooding, or other environmental conditions.

Glass damage resulting from rock chips, road debris, stress cracks, or normal wear and tear, unless expressly covered as part of a prior repair performed by West Michigan Auto Glass.

Any alterations, removal, repair, or service performed by third parties on the glass, installation materials, or adjacent vehicle components following our installation, including aftermarket accessories, antennas, dash cameras, and non-OEM parts.

Aftermarket Accessories, Cameras & Devices: West Michigan Auto Glass is not responsible for the removal, reinstallation, calibration, operation, or damage to aftermarket cameras, dash cameras, antennas, accessories, or devices that are not removed prior to service.

Failure to follow post-installation care instructions, including but not limited to recommended drive-away times, temporary retention tape requirements, avoiding automatic car washes during the specified curing period, or avoiding excessive stress on the glass or vehicle body.

Customer-supplied parts or materials. West Michigan Auto Glass warrants only the parts, glass, adhesives, and materials supplied by the company.

Incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including loss of vehicle use, loss of income, towing expenses, rental vehicle expenses, or other related costs, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Rust, Corrosion & Structural Damage: Warranty coverage may be limited or void if pre-existing rust, corrosion, pinch-weld deterioration, structural damage, prior collision repairs, or other vehicle conditions are discovered that affect the installation surface, glass fitment, adhesive bond, structural integrity, or long-term performance of the installation. Such conditions will be documented and communicated to the customer whenever reasonably possible before service is completed.

Personal Property: Customers are responsible for removing personal belongings, valuables, electronics, firearms, and other sensitive items from their vehicle prior to service. West Michigan Auto Glass is not responsible for the loss of, theft of, or damage to personal property left inside the vehicle before, during, or after service.

Moldings, Trim & Retention Components: Certain moldings, clips, retainers, fasteners, trims, and other vehicle components may become brittle, deteriorated, damaged, or weakened due to age, weather exposure, manufacturer design, prior repairs, or vehicle condition. While reasonable care is exercised during service, West Michigan Auto Glass is not responsible for the failure, breakage, or replacement of components that are deteriorated, previously damaged, corroded, or otherwise no longer serviceable at the time of installation.

Electronic Systems & Vehicle Features: West Michigan Auto Glass is not responsible for pre-existing issues involving cameras, sensors, antennas, heads-up displays, lane departure systems, rain sensors, power accessories, vehicle electronics, or other components that are not directly caused by the installation process. Customers are encouraged to report any concerns immediately following service.

Tempered Glass Breakage, Cleanup & Related Components: Tempered glass breakage often results in glass fragments entering door panels, hatch assemblies, tailgates, trim components, weather seals, drainage channels, and other areas of the vehicle that may not be fully accessible without extensive disassembly. West Michigan Auto Glass will make reasonable efforts to remove broken glass and debris associated with the replacement process; however, complete removal of all glass fragments cannot be guaranteed. Customers may continue to hear or discover loose glass particles after service, particularly within doors, quarter panels, hatch assemblies, tailgates, and other enclosed vehicle cavities. West Michigan Auto Glass is not a vehicle detailing service and is not responsible for the removal of all broken glass fragments resulting from the original glass breakage event. West Michigan Auto Glass is not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden damage, or subsequent failure of window regulators, window motors, door locks, hatch locks, latches, actuators, wiring, switches, speakers, sensors, trim panels, weather seals, or other components located within or adjacent to the affected area when such conditions are unrelated to our workmanship. Customers acknowledge that damage caused by the original glass breakage, attempted theft, vandalism, collision, prior repairs, corrosion, wear and tear, or other pre-existing vehicle conditions is not covered under this warranty.
